Mini dresses

2023 saw a major uptick in mini dresses, with Kourtney Kardashian going short to wed Travis Barker – plus the short Chanel frock that Sofia Richie-Grainge sported for her evening wedding look. Kate Halfpenny, Founder and Designer of Halfpenny London, has seen demand for short dresses soar. “Brides have been wearing short dresses for registry office weddings forever and continue to experiment on their big day or the events surrounding. Pair them with an epic cape or veil for the actual ceremony then rock it alone to dance the night away,” she says.

All about accessories

Libby Page, market director at Net-A-Porter reveals, “We have seen a 50% increase in searches for bridal hair accessories this year. We have incorporated hair bows, headbands, gloves, foulards, rosettes, and netted veils into our bridal offering for 2024 for those brides seeking complimentary details. Brands such as Clio Peppiatt, Jennifer Behr and CompletedWorks are a highlight.”

Jess Kaye, co-founder at The OWN Studio, also revealed: “So many brides are loving a maximalist look, especially when it comes to styling their outfit. Boas, long opera gloves, detachable sleeves, neck scarfs – accessories are an amazing way to transform your look across the day, and they’re huge at the moment.”
